Constellation

The Constellation series was inspired by a commission from Sam Coffman to paint "Orion" and "Alnitak Twilight" for his CD “Memories of Orion.” "Orion" is the father the Constellation series, and is the lodestar for each successive painting. Indigenous

Originally inspired by study of pre-Columbian history and culture, this series intends to reflect the lack of conscience with which we treat each other and the planet. There is much to learn from indigenous cultures around the world, whose ancestors we revere while completely ignoring or mindlessly harming their descendants. I am drawn to reflections of nobility in humble people the world over.
